Dear Customers, Dealers, Partners, and Friends,

As most of you are aware, the firearms industry and the community of hunters, shooters, and collectors it supports have been experiencing turbulent times this year. Demand is high, supply is low, and of course with the new adminstration, there is rampant speculation on what changes to the laws might occur.

Adding to the supply shortage problem is our new yearly registration fee with the State Department. As you will have read from our notices below, our registration fee has increased from $1750 per year to $39,500.

Yes, we are still struggling to remain in business and stay positive. Yes, we are still exporting, even though every single cent of what we make now goes to the State Department.

Based on the events of the past year, current trends and overall bussiness health, ETSS will adopt, effective immediately, the following procedures:

• All orders are final, no cancellations, no exceptions. It is hard enough to get products right now that when they become available, we have to act quickly. When you place an order, please ensure that the item(s) ordered are indeed what you want and what you can afford. We do not have the capacity to absorb cancelled merchandise.
• You MUST PAY YOUR BILL! All invoices are due immdediately. We cannot finance your purchases. As we have stated, every last bit of money we make now goes to pay the State Department so we can stay in business. We are not a financial institution and are not in the business of issuing loans. Invoices that are past due will incurr a 15% finance charge.

 Dear Customers, Dealers, Partners, and Friends,

We wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!

It has come to our attention that there is some doubt as to the authenticity of the new fee imposed by the U.S. State Department for export license applications.  Please see the links below to the U.S. Federal Register Notice, the official posting of the new law.

Please keep in mind that the new fee applies only to U.S. State Department export license applications; specifically, applications for the export of rifles, handguns, and other USML items.  As many items as you wish may be included in the application.  The fee is NOT kept by ETSS but remitted entirely to the U.S. State Department.

Also, please keep in mind that the ruling was made retroactive; that is, that although the ruling was made effective September 25, 2008, the fee will be charged on all past applications.

As we sincerely wished would not happen, according to the proposed rule, ETSS now becomes a "tier-three" registrant, and our yearly registration fee as exporters would increase from $1,750 a year to at least $20,000 and possibly over $50,000 a year.
